Why I created Re-Calculate
Re-Calculate began during a major transition in my business life.
After years of building a company, I carefully planned for the next stage. Because I had prepared for the change, my own transition went smoothly.
However, I noticed that some of the people affected by the transition were not as prepared. They had not been part of the process that led to the change and had less opportunity to anticipate what it would mean for them.
That experience showed me that even a well-planned change can feel sudden to those who were not involved in planning it.
I began thinking about how people could better respond when circumstances, organizations, or other people changed their direction for them.
They would need to examine the new reality, draw upon everything they had learned, decide where they wanted to go next, and take action.
That realization became the foundation of Re-Calculate.
A philosophy for everyone
The idea may have emerged from a business transition, but Re-Calculate is not only about business.
Change affects every part of life. It may be planned or unexpected, welcome or imposed. It can alter our work, relationships, health, resources, responsibilities, or goals.
We cannot control every event. We can learn to control how we respond.
Re-Calculate offers a practical way to look ahead, reconsider our direction, take action, learn from the results, and continue growing.
I share it freely in the hope that it will help people approach change with greater confidence and less fear.
There is no promise that every decision will be correct or that every route will be easy.
The promise is simpler:
When reality changes, you are capable of finding another direction.
Keep moving forward
I believe that learning makes life interesting and prepares us for change.
I believe that thoughtful action is usually better than permanent indecision.
I believe that manageable mistakes help us learn, innovate, and improve.
Most importantly, I believe that the past should inform our future—not consume the energy required to create it.
Re-Calculate is offered to anyone navigating change.
Read it. Use it. Share it with someone who may need it.
And when circumstances change again, Re-Calculate.
